The black Himalayan salt from the Allnature brand originates from faraway India and Pakistan. Although it is called black Himalayan salt, its color can vary from black-grey, through brick red, to pink. The color of the Himalayan salt is determined by the high content of iron in combination with other mineral substances found in the salt. Himalayan black salt, also known as kala namak or sanchal, is a special type of unrefined volcanic salt. This salt initially captures your attention with its specific and very distinctive sulfurous smell, which can even remind you of eggs. Himalayan black salt has its applications in the kitchen, especially in Indian cuisine.
